WeSort.AI GmbH is a high-tech start-up from Würzburg that is revolutionizing recycling through artificial intelligence and is thus making a significant contribution to the urgently needed circular economy. Our deep learning systems enable both granular analysis and sorting of, for example, electronic waste and various plastics. In 2023, we were one of six start-ups nationwide to be awarded the prestigious Founders' Prize plus from the Federal Ministry of Economics (BMWK) for our systems. In 2024, we received the next major award as one of the winners of the German Founders' Prize, initiated by Stern, Sparkasse, ZDF and Porsche.

Working hours: Full time (40 hours/week)

This is your new passion

Conception and design of machines in CAD (Autodesk Inventor)
Coordinating the development of circuit diagrams and coordinating the development of PLC programs with Beckhoff
Designing and commissioning prototypes at customer sites across the DACH region
Planning and coordinating customer projects as well as technical alignment with suppliers and customers
Selection, testing, and deployment of electronic components and sensors (cameras, X-ray technology, lighting technology, pneumatics, robots)
Creating installation and test instructions and acceptance protocols
Conception and design of new AI-based sorting systems in coordination with mechanical design

You inspire us

Preferred qualifications

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering
At least 3 years of relevant professional experience
Excellent communication skills, especially in dealings with suppliers and customers
Willingness to travel for on-site customer assignments and commissioning
Structured and independent way of working
Strong hands-on mentality and solution-oriented approach to technical challenges
Ambition to develop into a Head of Engineering over time (initial leadership experience is helpful)

Minimum qualifications

Degree in engineering or business
2 years of experience in mechanical engineering
Initial experience in leading employees
Strong drive to learn quickly and help shape our growth
