WeSort.AI GmbH is a high-tech start-up from Würzburg that is revolutionising recycling through artificial intelligence and thus making a significant contribution to the urgently needed circular economy. Our deep learning systems enable both granular analysis and sorting of e.g. electronic waste and various plastics. This year, we were one of six start-ups nationwide to receive the prestigious Gründerpreis plus from the Federal Ministry of Economics (BMWK) for our systems. In addition, the team is working on research projects with renowned partners such as Fraunhofer and Siemens to fight climate change and pollution of the oceans.

 

We are looking for a Full Stack Developer (m/f/d) to strengthen our team. You will be responsible for the conception, architecture and implementation of our machine platform. You will have a very broad and varied range of tasks and will take on the design of subcomponents as well as the development and implementation of the software in the front and back end. You are also responsible for the control of machines and the processing of imaging sensor data. Thematically, everything revolves around exciting and current topics from the recycling industry, such as the development of deep learning and object detection algorithms.

Tasks

Your challenges:​​​​

• Design, modeling and extension of software architectures

• Development of microservices for our machine control software suite in our microservice architecture

• Software implementation of interfaces to integrate AI algorithms in Python with PyTorch

• Work in autonomous Scrum/ Kanban teams

• Technology stack: Python, Pytorch, C++, REST, postgresql, Pub/Sub, Redis, SQL, NoSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, Typescript, Angular, Git, various test and build tools and much more

• Continuous integration/ deployment and operation of your own services

• Code reviews and pair programming

• Technology scouting and active participation in technology decisions.

• Work in an autonomous Scrum team in flat hierarchies with a lot of opportunities to get involved

• Cooperation in agile processes with colleagues as well as national and international partners and customers.

• Commissioning of software on the machine at the customer's site
   

Qualifications

What you bring:​​​​

• You have a university degree (master's, diploma) in computer science or a comparable subject with a very good degree

• You have at least two years of professional experience in the field of software development or the development of algorithms

• You are proficient in the programming languages Python and C++

• You like to work on large projects independently and like to take on responsibility

• You have the ability to analyze and solve highly complex issues

• You have a good understanding of complex system landscapes

• Enjoys helping to shape software architectures and selecting technologies

• You live principles like clean code, test-driven development

Also helpful are:​​​​

• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow or comparable frameworks

• Experience in handling message broker systems

• Experience in using gstreamer and RTMP, HLS streams
