WeSort. AI GmbH is a high-tech start-up from Würzburg that is revolutionising recycling through artificial intelligence and thus making a significant contribution to the urgently needed circular economy. Our deep learning systems enable both granular analysis and sorting of e.g. electronic waste and various plastics. This year, we were one of six start-ups nationwide to receive the prestigious Gründerpreis plus from the Federal Ministry of Economics (BMWK) for our systems. In addition, the team works on research projects with renowned partners such as Fraunhofer and Siemens and thus fights against climate change and pollution of the oceans. 

 

As a part-time Electrical Engineer or Technician for AI Recycling Systems, you will be part of a dynamic startup and will be able to help build and shape the field of electronics development and the research and development of new, AI-based and innovative products from the ground up.

Tasks

Your challenges:​​​​

• Design of electrical controls for new AI-based special machines 

• Selection and design of complex electrical components 

• Creation of electrical circuit diagrams with modern software 

• Creation of PLC programs 

• Development of communication interfaces with AI software 

• Development and programming of robots 

• Construction and commissioning of control cabinets and prototypes 

• Electrical circuit analysis and troubleshooting 

• Supervision of research projects 

• Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams in an interdisciplinary and dynamic start-up environment

Qualifications

What you bring:​​​​

• Completed bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, etc. or technician or training as an electronics technician for industrial engineering 

• Practical experience with electrical engineering, automation, control systems and drive technology 

• Problem-solving skills and innovative spirit 

• Teamwork and good communication skills 

• Flexibility, adaptability and proactive way of working

Also helpful are:​​​​

• Project management skills for the organisation and coordination of tasks and other team members 

• Relevant professional experience with the development and wiring and, PLC programming of plant control systems in special machine construction 

• Initial experience with artificial intelligence
