About WeSort.AI – Changing the game!

WeSort.AI GmbH is a high-tech start-up from Würzburg that is revolutionizing recycling through artificial intelligence and is thus making a significant contribution to the urgently needed circular economy. Our deep learning systems enable both granular analysis and sorting of, for example, electronic waste and various plastics. In 2023, we were one of six start-ups nationwide to be awarded the prestigious Founders' Prize plus from the Federal Ministry of Economics (BMWK) for our systems. In 2024, we received the next major award as one of the winners of the German Founders' Prize, initiated by Stern, Sparkasse, ZDF and Porsche.

In addition, at WeSort.AI we work on research projects with well-known partners such as Siemens to combat climate change and ocean pollution.

Contract duration: unlimited

Working hours: Full-time or part-time (at least 20 hours/week)

This is your new passion

Identify suitable national and European funding programs
Take ownership of the end-to-end grant application process – from idea and budgeting through to submission
Manage awarded funds, reporting, and communications with funding bodies
Work closely with the executive team, Finance, and Product to structure fundable initiatives
Build relationships with funders and public institutions and position us as a forward-looking Green Tech company
Develop processes that allow us to access funding at scale and strategically in the future

You inspire us

Preferred qualifications

Several years of experience in fundraising/grant acquisition, ideally with proven successes in the six- to seven-figure range
Solid knowledge of grant ecosystems and procurement structures (EU, UN, national ministries, foundations)
Excellent writing skills – able to translate technical content into fundable strategies
Experience with reporting obligations, grant guidelines, and compliance requirements
Strategic thinking, strong organizational skills, and a high degree of ownership
Confident use of Microsoft Office and, if applicable, grant management tools
Experience in scale-ups, non-profits, or research-oriented organizations is a plus

Minimum qualifications

Degree or proven experience in grant management, public affairs, finance, or related fields
Structured, independent way of working
Motivation to create real impact for the environment and technology with us
