Location: Würzburg / Remote with attendance days


WeSort. AI GmbH is a high-tech start-up that is revolutionising recycling through artificial intelligence. This is how we make our contribution to the urgently needed circular economy, because our deep learning systems enable both granular analysis and sorting of e.g. electronic waste and plastics. This year, we were one of six start-ups nationwide to be awarded the prestigious Gründerpreis plus by the Federal Ministry of Economics (BMWK). We are also working on research projects with partners such as Fraunhofer and Siemens to put a stop to climate change and pollution of the oceans. For this, we need a strong team that shares our values and is committed to this vision and mission.  


We are looking for an experienced business analyst for accounting and controlling (m/f/d) to strengthen our team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong analytical mindset and strong financial background. 


Your challenges:​​​​

  • Analysis and interpretation of business processes and financial data 

  • Development and implementation of strategic and operational controlling instruments 

  • Development and updating of financial models to support strategic planning 

  • Analysis and interpretation of financial data to support business decisions 

  • Creation of forecasts and analyzes to support budgeting and financial planning 

  • Worked with the finance team to prepare quarterly and annual reports 

  • Assistance with budgeting and financial planning 

  • Preparation of financial reports and presentations for management 

  • Participation in the implementation and further development of IT systems in the area of accounting and controlling



What you bring:​​​​

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in business administration, finance, controlling or a related subject 

  • In-depth understanding of financial reporting, cost accounting and budgeting

  • Knowledge of financial planning and forecasting and risk management practices

  • At least 2 years of experience in accounting and/or controlling 

  • Strong analytical skills and high affinity for numbers and detail-oriented work 

  • Sound knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel, as well as experience with ERP systems 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure and prioritize 

  • Understanding of legal and regulatory standards in accounting and finance 

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in German and English 

Also helpful are:​​​​

  • Ability to communicate complex financial information in a simple and understandable way 

  • High level of initiative and personal responsibility 

  • Familiarity with start-up environments and ability to work in fast-paced, changing environments.
